A content management system (CMS) offers advanced tools to manage your website structure, and how visitors and employees access its content. But how does that work exactly? What settings, formats, and advanced options does CMS provide?
Where previously the role of the webmaster was often regarded as merely a "content editor", now they are responsible for the site consistency and structure. This one-day training gives Webmasters an overview of the various functions of the various CMS and provides 'hands on' experience in configuring and managing a CMS Site.
Prerequisites
Participants in this training should have experience with the following:
* Is familiar with the information contained in our "End User" training
* Is fairly organized with a knowledge of website structure
* knowledge of and experience with basic web technology
Outcomes
At the end of the training, the participant will have knowledge of the following:
* Managing the website through the Control Panel
* User management and security configuration of the CMS
* Workflow and publication configuration for the website
* Advanced content such as collections and their role in site constrution
* Creation and management of side panels (portlets or modules) in the website
* Extra add-on product installation for CMS sites
Material
The training focuses on practical experience, but we also provide a handout copy of the presentation provided. Additionally, we provide a free copy of the reference book A user's guide to CMS.
Location
Macrocyber is located at 32 Lindsey rd by Luton-London airport. We have a training room for up to 8-12 participants. Training on your own site is also possible.
Costs
The cost of this training is £375, - This includes lunch in the style of a plowman's lunch. You can make unlimited use of coffee, tea and cold drinks. If we have less than 4 participants we reserve the right to cancel and reschedule the training session.
